I sit here today with so many questions running through my mind, but I keep coming back to one in particular: "What is next, God?"
Have you ever found yourself in a season where your every move depends entirely on what God says? A season where you literally cannot move unless He gives the word, and you are left looking to Him for your very next step?
Depending on God for our future isn't the problem. The real struggle is that these waiting seasons can feel like an overwhelming, excruciating weight. As human beings, we were originally designed to depend fully on our Creator. But because of the fall, our human nature fights against that dependency. We want control, and we want things our own way.
We start to feel stuck because we want things to move faster. Meanwhile, God is taking His time in preparing a grand table for us in the presence of our enemies.
Child of God, if you find yourself in this heavy season right now, please hang on. The Lord has not forgotten about you. I love what a preacher once said:
"When you have done all you are required to do, and God still seems silent, give Him a chance."
The greatest mistake we can make in these quiet moments is to lose patience and run ahead of Him. Yes, the waiting season is incredibly hard. Yet, it is the exact environment God uses to pave the way for our destiny.
If you are like me, waiting for your next word from God before making a move, I want to encourage you today. Let’s hold on together. We serve a God who neither sleeps nor slumbers.
The enemy’s plan to keep you blocked is already a lost battle. The Lord never rushes because He doesn't have to—He is in total control of all things. When He commands, things happen.
So, wait with me. Pray with me. Let’s keep our heads up for what is ahead: a beautiful table prepared by God, just for us.
Questions:
What is one area of your life right now where you are struggling to wait on God's timing instead of rushing ahead?
When God seems silent in your current season, what truths about His character help you hold on?
