LOVING ONE ANOTHER (1John 4:7-20)
God’s Word says that when we love each other, God lives in us and His love is fully expressed through us. If you accept Jesus as your Savior, your life must show this truth through actions, not just words. Love is an action word. The presence of God in our hearts is proven by how we live. So, what is the ultimate proof that God lives in us?
1. God has given us His Spirit
"God gave us His Spirit to show that we live in Him, and He lives in us" (1 John 4:13). The clearest sign that you are rooted in Jesus is how you love others. When you are led by God’s Spirit, your life naturally produces good fruit.
2. God sent His Son to be the Savior of the world
We must believe in our hearts and declare with our mouths that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. "All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God" (1 John 4:15). When we do this, we begin to live a life that truly represents Him—a life free from fear, and filled with hope (Matthew 12:21).
3. We must live in the love of Christ
"We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them" (1 John 4:16). The Bible shows us that the closer we live to God, the more our love grows perfect. This gives us complete confidence for the Day of Judgment, because our lives on earth truly represent who He is.
